7X7 Civic Center Laser Installation

The free 7X7 public art installation sends 49 beams of light into the sky above Civic Center Plaza, with one beam representing each square mile of San Francisco. Created by Illuminate, the large-scale artwork can be viewed from the plaza as well as from locations across San Francisco and parts of the Bay Area. The installation operates nightly through July 4 and changes colors during major summer celebrations, including Pride and the United States’ 250th anniversary.

The 7X7 installation continues above Civic Center Plaza on Friday night with 49 powerful beams forming a glowing grid in the sky. The free artwork represents San Francisco’s famous seven-by-seven-mile dimensions and is designed to be visible from many neighborhoods. San Francisco Mime Troupe in Dolores Park

The San Francisco Mime Troupe begins its 2026 summer park season with a free presentation of Wreckage: A Musical Tragicomedy. Morgan Hill Freedom Fest

The July 3 portion of Morgan Hill Freedom Fest begins with the Children’s Patriotic Sing at the downtown amphitheater. The celebration then expands onto Monterey Road for the Family Music Fest, featuring three entertainment stages, food and beverage vendors, a beer and wine area, and a Kids Zone with jump houses, chalk art, and lawn games. The festivities continue on July 4 with the Freedom Run, classic cars, the annual parade, and Fireworks on the Green. Benicia Torchlight Parade

Location: First Street in Downtown Benicia. The route travels between D Street and Benicia City Park.

Alameda Fourth of July Parade and 5K

The morning begins with a flat, point-to-point 5K run and walk along streets that will later be used for the parade. The race benefits the Midway Shelter of Alameda and is followed by one of the longest Fourth of July parade routes in the country. Antioch Fourth of July Parade, Festival and Fireworks

Benicia Waterfront Fireworks

Brentwood Fourth of July Parade

Brentwood’s America 250 celebration begins with a children’s procession followed by the main Fourth of July parade. The 2026 theme, “Agricultural Roots and the American Dream,” recognizes Brentwood’s farming history and the people and industries that helped shape the community. After the parade, activities continue around City Park, Oak Street, First Street and Veterans Memorial Hall.

Clayton Independence Day Parade

Location: Pancake breakfast at Endeavor Hall, 6008 Center Street, Clayton, CA 94517. The children’s parade and main parade take place along Oak Street and nearby Downtown Clayton streets.

Event Times: Pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The children’s parade begins at 10 a.m., followed shortly afterward by the main parade.

Clayton begins the morning with a community pancake breakfast at Endeavor Hall. Children can join the opening procession with decorated bikes, scooters, wagons and other non-gas-powered vehicles without registering in advance. The main parade follows along Oak Street with local groups and patriotic entries celebrating the country’s 250th birthday.

Concord Stars and Stripes 5K

Event Times: Registration begins at 6:45 a.m. The free Kids Fun Run starts at 8 a.m., followed by the national anthem at 8:10 a.m. and the 5K run and walk at 8:15 a.m.

Runners and walkers can start Independence Day with a timed 5K through the streets of Concord. The event includes finisher medals, age-group awards, course aid stations and post-race refreshments. A free run is available for children ages 10 and younger, and a Rotary pancake breakfast will be served near the plaza.

Concord Independence Day Parade

Location: Todos Santos Plaza and the surrounding Downtown Concord streets, near Salvio Street and Grant Street

Event Times: 10 a.m.

Concord’s Independence Day Parade follows the morning Stars and Stripes races. The downtown procession includes decorated floats, marching bands, equestrian groups, dance teams and local organizations. Spectators can watch from streets surrounding Todos Santos Plaza before the celebration moves to Mount Diablo High School later in the afternoon.

Concord Festival and Fireworks

Event Times: Festival gates open at 4 p.m. Live music begins at 5:30 p.m., the evening headliner starts at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

The evening portion of Concord’s celebration includes food, vendors, carnival attractions and live entertainment at Mount Diablo High School. Brooks Lundy performs at 5:30 p.m., followed by 3day Weekend at 7:30 p.m. The celebration concludes with Fireworks Over Concord at 9 p.m.

Danville Fourth of July Parade

Location: Historic Downtown Danville. The parade begins near San Ramon Valley High School and Railroad Avenue, travels along Hartz Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard and ends near Town and Country Drive.

The Kiwanis-Danville Fourth of July Parade is one of the largest Independence Day events in the Tri-Valley area. More than 100 groups are expected to participate, including bands, community organizations, youth groups, local leaders and classic parade entries.
