If you are coupled up, V Day is a great time to show your significant other how much you care. Buy some great Valentine’s Day presents, make some reservations at the best San Francisco restaurants, take in a show or do something really unique; the possibilities are endless. If you are single, you can still make the most of the holiday by heading out to the many San Francisco events where you can mingle with other people and maybe even find someone special!

The key to having a fun and exciting Valentine’s Day is to plan in advance. If you want to get the perfect gift, you don’t want to get stuck in Union Square the night before, so figure out what you want to get and order on Amazon or head out to the store and get it taken care of. You don’t want to have any last minute surprises. If you are thinking about going to dinner, reservations at some of the top restaurants in San Francisco book up 6 months in advance so if you are planning a nice evening at Atelier Crenn, Gary Danko, Benu or any other amazing spots, you will need to plan way ahead.

Why not take a day for yourself and alleviate the stress in your life. Enjoy a couples massage and grab a romantic package at one of the adjoining hotels or, grab your single friends and pamper yourselves before heading to a Valentine’s Day Event. 

Plan a Staycation

If you want to do something special, but don’t have time to get out of town, plan a staycation at one of the boutique or luxury hotels in San Francisco. 

Dining and Dancing

Make reservations at your favorite restaurant, grab a few drinks at the bar and then head to an event or a nightclub for an evening of dancing and fun. 

Plan a Getaway

The San Francisco Bay Area offers some great opportunities for day trips or long weekends. Head up to Napa for some wine tasting, spend a few days in Calistoga complete with mud baths and spa treatments or get a room at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay.
