An Immersive Halloween Experience at Haas-Lilienthal House
Step inside the storied walls of the Haas-Lilienthal House this Halloween season for a chillingly unique experience that blends psychological horror with immersive theater. Nightmare House on Franklin Street, the latest production from the creators of Unhinged at Winchester Mystery House and the hit immersive show The Speakeasy, promises an evening that will haunt your mind long after you leave.
On Friday, October 18, this unsettling 45-minute tour will unravel across two time slots at 7:30PM and 9PM. Rather than relying on traditional jump scares and animatronics, Nightmare House is part haunted house and part immersive experience and delves deep into psychological terror, designed to unsettle and disorient even the bravest souls. With fog, strobe lights, and loud sound effects heightening the atmosphere, guests should be prepared for an experience that teeters on the edge of what the mind can handle. While not for the faint of heart, it offers a masterclass in the art of fear, weaving in the haunted history of the house itself.
Built in 1886, the Queen Anne-style Haas-Lilienthal House stands as a symbol of San Francisco’s Victorian grandeur. Having survived the 1906 earthquake, it now serves as a cultural landmark and museum, where history and ghost stories intertwine. This October, the house sheds its daytime elegance to reveal its darker side, becoming the perfect backdrop for this hair-raising Halloween event.
Arrive 15 minutes before your ticketed time, and if you dare, come early to enjoy a drink at the Cellar of Cursed Spirits bar. With its storied past and eerie ambiance, the Haas-Lilienthal House will immerse you in a night of dread you won’t soon forget. Recommended for ages 16 and up.
