The Bright Light Social Hour Brings Their Psychedelic Sound to Cafe Du Nord

Bright Light Social Hour is an American rock band formed in Austin, Texas in 2004. The band consists of Curtis Roush on guitar and vocals, Jack O’Brien on bass and vocals, Mia Carruthers on keys and vocals, Zac Catanzaro on drums, and Juan Alfredo Ríos with percussion. The band’s music has been described as a blend of psychedelic rock, blues, and funk, with influences from classic rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles.

The band gained popularity with their self-titled debut album in 2010, which was followed by their sophomore album “Space Is Still the Place” in 2015. Both albums received critical acclaim and helped to establish the band as a force in the Texas music scene. In 2017, they released their third album “Jude Vol. I” which was followed by “Jude Vol. II” in 2019.

Throughout their career, Bright Light Social Hour has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, performing at numerous music festivals including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits. They have also shared the stage with artists such as Grace Potter, The Black Keys, and Umphrey’s McGee.
