The Fourth of July will feel extra special in 2026. The United States is celebrating its 250th anniversary and one of the biggest Independence Day parties in the Bay Area will take place in San Francisco’s Marina District. I always look forward to the Fourth of July and this one should be extra awesome.
The annual Fourth of July Pub Crawl and Hot Dog Eating Contest returns on Saturday, July 4, 2026 from 2PM to 10PM. The event has been taking place for more than 15 years and brings thousands of people together for an afternoon of music, contests, drink specials, and holiday fun.
Participants can begin the day at Rick & Roxy’s, located at 2131 Lombard Street. Check-in is open from 2PM to 8PM. Guests will receive an event wristband and pub crawl map before heading out to the participating bars.
More than 10 Marina bars will be part of the event including Jaxson, Westwood, The Blue Light, Union Street Ale House, Palm House, The Brixton, Comet Club, Wizards & Wands, White Rabbit, Rick & Roxy’s & more.
The event is designed so you can explore at their own speed. There is no need to follow one large group or visit the bars in a set order. Choose the places that look fun, meet friends along the route and grab drink specials at participating locations. The party will also include the San Francisco Hot Dog Eating Contest and the San Francisco Pie Eating Contest.
Tickets also include DJs, party favors and the Find the Gnome Contest. Keep an eye out while moving between bars because the hidden gnomes could be waiting at one of the event locations.
The Marina is also close to several popular areas for watching the San Francisco fireworks. After the pub crawl, guests can make their way toward the waterfront and finish the holiday with the evening show. For 2026, there is a special Fireworks Show over the Golden Gate Bridge, so make sure to get there early to get a good spot.
