Join the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (SFS) on July 4th for a Fourth of July to remember complete with beautiful orchestral music and fireworks at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.

The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (SFS) is a world-renowned orchestra based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 1911, it is one of the oldest orchestras in the United States and has played a significant role in shaping the cultural life of San Francisco and the Bay Area. The SFS has been recognized as one of the most artistically adventurous and innovative orchestras in the world, known for its commitment to commissioning and performing new works, as well as its interpretations of classical repertoire.

The SFS has had many notable conductors over the years, including Pierre Monteux, who led the orchestra from 1936-1952, and Seiji Ozawa, who served as music director from 1969-1976. More recently, Michael Tilson Thomas was music director from 1995-2020 and was succeeded by Esa-Pekka Salonen in 2020. The orchestra performs at the Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall in the Civic Center neighborhood of San Francisco and has a reputation for excellence in sound quality and performance. The SFS has also released numerous recordings, including multiple Grammy Award-winning albums, and has collaborated with a wide range of artists and musical genres.
