The city’s wild festivities have been built on decades of parades, pub crawls and cultural celebrations that have cemented its reputation as top city to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
This year, as always, San Francisco delivers all kinds of cool things to do for those eager to partake. The calendar is full of block parties that spill into the streets, live performances, massive pub crawls and family-friendly events. Whether you’re a local with some shamrock tattoos or a visitor donning a freshly bought leprechaun hat, there’s an event to match your mood. St. Patrick’s Day in San Francisco is a great time to get out of the house and head to some great bars, attend some fun events and enjoy SF with friends. Some great annual block parties will be taking place like the The Irish Bank Block Party and the Greenfest Block Party and, if you want to go big this year, the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl will take place over three days for 2025. We love how St. Patrick’s Day is kind of the kick off to the year. After New Year’s Eve, people tend to take things down a notch and there aren’t as many events or concerts taking place. Combined with sober January and everyone trying to fulfill their New Year’s resolutions (time to actually use the gym you pay for every month), the beginning of the year is a nice break from the craziness of the rest of the year. Once St. Patrick’s Day hits, though, the city starts to come alive. Bay to Breakers, Bottlerock, San Francisco Street Festivals, Fleet Week, Halloween and more await you in the months to come. As the United Irish Cultural Center (UICC) marks its 50th anniversary, get ready for a night that brings Ireland’s heartbeat to San Francisco! On Friday, March 14, 2025, the St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland concert will fill the theater with the wild energy of bodhráns thumping, fiddles soaring, uilleann pipes wailing, guitars strumming, and dancers’ feet flying. This family-friendly show, brought to life by the talented Kerry Traditional Band, guest singers, and dazzling dancers, is like a one-way ticket to the Emerald Isle. You’ll leave the UICC with a bounce in your step and Ireland in your soul!
The band’s ready to crank it up with crowd-pleasers like “The Wild Rover,” “Ireland’s Call,” “Raglan Road,” “Leaving of Limerick,” and “Black Velvet Band”—songs that’ll have you singing along and raising the roof. It’s a night of pure Irish joy you won’t forget.

174th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
San Francisco’s streets are turning green for the 174th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 15, 2025, and it’s shaping up to be a big one! The United Irish Societies has tapped Mark Gorman, a proud UICC Board Member, as the 2025 Grand Marshal. He’ll be at the front of the pack, guiding the celebration from 2nd and Market Street all the way up to City Hall. It’s a well-deserved nod to Mark and his family, and we can’t wait to cheer him on as the Irish spirit takes over downtown.
This year’s parade also shines a spotlight on three incredible honorees: Jerry Cassidy, a UICC founder who helped build our community from the ground up; Marie Gavney, a dedicated UICC member; and Sr. Edith Hurley, RSM, a cherished teacher and former Irish dancer with the Healy School. These folks are the heart of Irish San Francisco, and we’re thrilled to celebrate them.
The United Irish Cultural Center is marking its 50th anniversary in March 2025, making this parade extra special. Keep an eye out for the UICC 50th Anniversary Parade Bus—it’s rolling through in style! Get ready, San Francisco—the parade is making its grand return! On Saturday, March 15th, The Irish Bank in Union Square is hosting its 19th annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party, and it’s going to be a blast. We’re throwing open the doors at 11 a.m., with the real fun kicking off at 1:30 p.m. This is your chance to soak up the best of Irish revelry right in the heart of the city.
Expect a lineup of live music that’ll keep your feet tapping all day long. From 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., The Watch will bring soulful traditional Irish melodies mixed with Celtic rock vibes. Then, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., The Quiet Men take the stage with their own spin on classic tunes. As the night heats up, DJ Marc van Brabant spins from 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., keeping the party going strong.

St. Patrick’s Day Crissy Field 5k and Kids Run
Join us for a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day celebration with a speedy, scenic 5K that takes you along Crissy Field’s flat trails, out to the stunning Fort Point, and back again. It’s the perfect way to soak in the Bay Area’s beauty while getting into the holiday spirit!
Little leprechauns aged 12 and under can join the fun with a free half-mile Kids Run, starting right after the 5K wraps up. Both races share the same start/finish line, so it’s a family-friendly blast from beginning to end.
Here’s the rundown: Check-in opens at 8 a.m., with the 5K kicking off at 9 a.m. Park for free at Yacht Harbor Road, Crissy Field, or nearby lots. Everyone gets a finisher ribbon to flaunt, and the top five male, female, and non-binary runners snag special place ribbons. Rain or shine, we’re running—no refunds, just good vibes!

Get ready for GREEN FEST 2025. It’s a St. Patrick’s Day celebration that’s all about family, fun, and Irish spirit! Hosted by the United Irish Cultural Center, Java Beach at the Zoo, United Irish Societies, and Cooley Keegan Comhaltas, this Sunset District gem is back on March 16, 2025. They will be shutting down a stretch of 45th Ave between Sloat and Wawona, right outside the Irish Center, turning it into a lively hub of food, drinks, live music, Irish dancers, pipers, vendors, kids’ activities, and more.

This is a family-friendly party from top to bottom. From 2PM to 10PM, the Front Street Entertainment Zone will be your go-to spot for an unforgettable holiday vibe. Think mouthwatering Irish eats, frosty green beers, and live tunes that’ll keep you dancing—all brought to life by local legends like Harrington’s Bar & Grill, Schroeder’s, Royal Exchange, Irish Times, and Patriot House.
