The party kicks off at noon, and Whitechapel’s pulling out all the stops—live music, tasty food & a lineup of great drinks will keep the energy high. With the official St. Patrick’s Day parade only a couple of blocks away, you can join the march or settle in with a drink to watch the action from inside. Either way, it’s shaping up to be a lively day. Guests are encouraged to wear their best green outfits to really get into the spirit.

Whitechapel’s also participating in St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, so it’s a perfect spot to stop during the day’s festivities. Then, as the Lepracon Pub Crawl winds down, it transforms into the afterparty location. The perfect place to keep the celebration going late into the night. The folks at Brick by Brick Hospitality, who run the bar, say this is one of the events they’re hosting in the coming months before Whitechapel reopens permanently later this year with a refreshed concept. For now, this one day event is your chance to get in on the action.

What makes Whitechapel stand out? Tucked into the Tenderloin at Turk and Post, it’s the brainchild of Martin Cate (of Smuggler’s Cove fame), Alex Smith, and John Park, who turned it into a gin lover’s paradise with over 400 varieties and a killer cocktail menu. The design is beautiful as well, like a Victorian steampunk version of an abandoned London Tube station, complete with a barrel-vaulted ceiling, authentic subway tiles & bubbling botanical tubes that give it a distillery vibe. There’s even a “Gin Palace” room that feels like a hidden 19th-century gem. It’s gritty, immersive, and totally transports you to the more mysterious side of London. That is exactly why it’s such a cool spot in San Francisco.
