Mardi Gras 2nd line Parade March – Northstar to Tupelo

Get out your handkerchiefs and join Tupelo and North Star for their 6th Annual Mardi Gras 2nd Line March on Saturday, February 14th, 2026.

The fun starts at The North Star at 1:30PM where your ticket gets you drink specials as well as a healthy assortment of Mardi Gras beads. N’awlins grub From the Tupelo kitchen is available at a small additional charge. Featured music by the North Beach Brass band will start inside on the North Star “back porch” before we take it to the streets for more fun than you can shake a drum major’s baton at.

The star attraction is MJ’s Brass Boppers, the Bay Area’s only New Orleans–born-and-raised brass band, delivering an authentic second-line experience that fuses classic NOLA standards, funk, jazz, modern pop, and swinging brass energy—often described as the next best thing to marching down Claiborne Avenue in New Orleans. The parade departs around 3:30–4:30 PM, weaving through North Beach streets with handkerchief-waving dancers.

Then march and boogie “Second Line” style, meandering our way through Washington Square Park and North Beach, landing at Tupelo on Grant Avenue for more music, booze and well, you know. Mardi Gras costumes are highly encouraged.
