Considered one of the Big Four in American metal bands, Megadeth was founded in Los Angeles in 1983. Along with Slayer, Metallica and Anthrax, the rock bands rose to popularity and took over the airwaves with their powerful music and over the top performances. Founded by Dave Mustaine, who was the original lead guitarist for Metallica, and bassist David Ellefson, the band led the way in defining heavy metal culture around the world. Although the debut album “Killing is My Business…and Business in Good!” only saw a small level of success, it did get the attention of Capital Records, who signed Megadeth and helped them slowly rise to the level of rock gods. With 38 million albums sold, 12 Grammy Award nominations and 6 Certified Platinum studio albums, the band has proven themselves as one of the best metal bands of all time. After more than 30 years of touring and creating new music, the band is on the road again and making a stop in the San Francisco Bay Area on Thursday, September 6. See their incredible live show as they take the stage at Concord Pavilion in the East Bay with opening act Lamb of God.
