Some nights are about hearing a great band. Others are about being part of a room filled with volume, energy, and songs that leave a lasting impression. On Wednesday, November 11, Rickshaw Stop + Popscene bring SPARTA and Public Opinion together for an all-ages night of emotionally charged rock, punk intensity, and unforgettable live performances.

At the center of the evening is SPARTA, the Texas-based band led by founding member Jim Ward. The group’s latest chapter is shaped by a simple but powerful idea: leaving an impression. Ward found the inspiration for SPARTA’s sixth full-length album, Cut a Silhouette, while watching a documentary about the late comedian John Candy. Hearing Macaulay Culkin describe how Candy could enter a room and “cut a silhouette”—leaving a lasting impression—gave Ward the concept he had been searching for. That idea of creating something meaningful and memorable runs through the record and speaks to SPARTA’s enduring approach to songwriting: music designed to stay with you long after the final note.

Joining SPARTA is Public Opinion, a Denver band that has steadily evolved from the city’s hardcore scene into a dynamic rock & roll powerhouse. Featuring Hart, drummer Austin Latare, guitarists Kevin Johnson and Brent Liseth, and bassist Sebastian Stanley, the group combines the raw edge of punk with increasingly melodic and anthemic songwriting.

Their new EP, Perpetual Motion Machine, builds on the momentum of their debut album, Painted On Smile, while pushing their catchy, confrontational sound further. The new material was recorded by Christian Gutierrez and mixed by Brett Romnes, whose credits include Anxious, Oso Oso, and I Am The Avalanche. With recognition from outlets including Stereogum, BrooklynVegan, and Paste Magazine, Public Opinion arrives ready to bring its restless energy to the stage.

The show is all ages, with doors at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, with an $85 VIP meet & greet option available for fans who want an added experience.

Come ready for loud guitars, urgent rhythms, powerful songwriting, and two bands committed to making an impression. SPARTA and Public Opinion take over Rickshaw Stop on Wednesday, November 11—grab your tickets, bring your friends, and be there for a night built to stay with you.
