Little Bears Music Class Invites Bay Area Families to Sing, Move and Play
For families with young children, music can be more than something to listen to—it can be a way to move, connect, explore and express yourself. Little Bears Music Class at Thrive City brings that idea to life with an interactive experience designed to help children discover the joy of rhythm and melody while building confidence and social connections.
Held in the Esplanade at the corner of Warriors Way and Terry A. Francois Boulevard, the class offers two sessions tailored to different age groups. Babies and toddlers ages 3 and under can participate from 10 to 11 a.m., while preschoolers ages 4 to 6 have their own session from noon to 1 p.m. The age-based format gives families an opportunity to choose the experience that best fits their child’s stage.
At the center of the musical fun is Teacher Barb, a guitar-slinging musician who brings a broad mix of familiar sounds to the class. Her repertoire includes rock ’n’ roll, country, folk, blues and jazz classics, along with original songs created specifically for kids and families. Her approach is designed to create a supportive environment where children and the adults accompanying them can participate together.
Rather than simply watching a performance, young attendees are encouraged to get involved. Through singing, movement, rhythm and rhyme, children can explore music as a joyful form of self-expression. Teacher Barb helps participants learn to sing in tune, discover the beat and feel the rhythm, creating an experience that can continue beyond the class itself.
The event also makes for an easy family outing at Thrive City, where visitors can stay afterward for lunch or treats. Parking is available seven days a week at the Chase Center Garage at 99 Warriors Way.
Space is limited and available first-come, first-served, so families should plan accordingly. With dedicated sessions for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, Little Bears Music Class offers local families a playful opportunity to make music together in an open and welcoming setting.
