Shpongle – Two Nights! An Immersive Psychedelic Experience

Shpongle (Simon Posford Live) brings its extraordinary psychedelic electronic experience to San Francisco for Two Nights!, beginning Friday, October 30, 2026. Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the performance starting at 8:00 PM. Known for combining electronic music with live instrumentation, immersive production, world-music influences, and spontaneous improvisation, this rare performance promises an experience that goes far beyond a conventional DJ set.

At the center of Shpongle is Simon Posford, a pioneering figure whose work has helped shape psychedelic electronic music for decades. Also known for his influential project Hallucinogen, Posford’s early releases Twisted and The Lone Deranger became important touchstones in the development of the global psytrance movement. Through Shpongle, he pushed that foundation in an entirely different direction, creating music that draws from ambient, psychedelic, world, electronic, and experimental traditions.

SHPONGLE (Simon Posford Live) is particularly distinctive because of its emphasis on creating a complete sensory experience. Instead of relying solely on pre-programmed electronic tracks, Posford incorporates live instrumentation, advanced production techniques, and improvisation into the performance. The result is a constantly evolving show that can shift from hypnotic and atmospheric passages to intricate rhythms and expansive psychedelic soundscapes.

The performances have developed a reputation for their ambitious scale and immersive qualities, with Posford’s live shows described as the “Psychedelic Olympics.” For audiences, that means the music becomes part of a larger experience designed to blur the boundaries between sound, technology, performance, and imagination.

Interest in Shpongle’s live performances has remained strong, with the artist’s 2025 tour selling out in every city, including multi-night engagements in New York, Denver, and San Francisco. The upcoming two-night engagement continues that tradition while giving longtime listeners and newcomers another opportunity to experience Posford’s distinctive musical world in person.

Whether you’re a longtime follower of psychedelic electronic music or simply curious about an unconventional live performance, Shpongle – Two Nights! offers an opportunity to hear one of the genre’s most influential artists push electronic music into new territory. Expect deep rhythms, intricate sound design, live musicianship, improvisational moments, and an atmosphere designed to be experienced as much as heard.

With doors at 7:00 PM and the show at 8:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2026, Shpongle’s return promises an unforgettable evening for fans of psychedelic, electronic, experimental, and immersive music.
