Blankslate and Dirty Twenties Visit Brick and Mortar Music Hall on July 2nd at 8pm
Founded in 2018 by Em, Tess, and Rylee – college roommates who met at the University of Denver after transferring from different schools – Blankslate started out practicing in a storage closet in the basement of their dorm and performing at small coffee shop and open mic gigs around DU. After gaining momentum, they graduated to Denver’s club scene and released their EP ‘{thursday}’ in 2020.
Blankslate’s debut album, ‘Summer on a Salt Flat,’ was released to a sold-out crowd at Goosetown Tavern on October 28th, 2022. The album’s lead single, “Bell Station,” premiered on Indie 102.3 before the album release, and the band was later included in the station’s Best of Local 303 list at the end of the year.
Driven by a belief in transformation and the possibility of becoming, Blankslate incorporates elements of various musical influences, from folk to grunge to classic rock, to create a distinct sound that serves as the backdrop for their referential and diaristic lyrics and stories. The band is set to embark on their ‘Summer on a Salt Flat Tour’ in the summer of 2023, starting with a run along the west coast.
Blankslate will be joined by Dirty Twenties at the Brick and Mortal Music Hall on July 2nd at 8pm — don’t miss it!
