Sandra Bernhard

Spend an evening with acclaimed comedian, actor, singer, and performer Sandra Bernhard when she brings “Caught Off Guard” to The Castro Theatre in San Francisco, California, on Thursday, December 3, 2026, at 8:00 PM. Known for her distinctive combination of stand-up, storytelling, music, cultural commentary, and sharp observational humor, Bernhard has developed a performance style that moves comfortably between comedy and cabaret.

Sandra Bernhard – “Caught Off Guard” offers audiences an opportunity to experience Bernhard in a live setting at one of San Francisco’s most recognizable historic venues. Her performances are known for their conversational energy and willingness to explore contemporary culture, entertainment, relationships, and everyday absurdities through a highly personal perspective. Rather than following a conventional stand-up format, Bernhard’s shows often incorporate different performance elements, creating an evening that can shift between spoken comedy, stories, music, and character-driven moments.

The event takes place at The Castro Theatre, a landmark venue in San Francisco’s Castro district with deep ties to the city’s LGBTQ+ cultural history. Its distinctive atmosphere provides a memorable backdrop for an evening centered on live performance and comedy.

The engagement is also part of an important moment for the theater and its surrounding neighborhood. Another Planet Entertainment has highlighted its five-year project with The Castro Theatre and encouraged attendees to support the local businesses surrounding the historic LGBTQ+ landmark. Guests are invited to arrive early and explore the Castro district, including its restaurants, shops, and other neighborhood destinations, before or after the performance.
