Give your body time to slow down, reset, and recover at Weekly Fitness Classes | Athletic Stretch at Thrive City in San Francisco. Presented by Kaiser Permanente, this free community fitness series offers accessible classes throughout September, October, and November, giving Bay Area residents and visitors an opportunity to stay active while exploring different approaches to movement and wellness. Athletic Stretch is open to all fitness levels and is designed for anyone looking to improve flexibility, release everyday tension, and leave feeling refreshed.

The Athletic Stretch class focuses on areas that commonly experience tightness and fatigue, including the hamstrings, lower back, neck, and shoulders. The session incorporates both seated and standing stretches, creating a balanced format that can accommodate participants with different levels of mobility and fitness experience. Rather than emphasizing intense exercise, the class provides an opportunity to concentrate on controlled stretching and physical recovery. It can be a useful addition to an active routine or a simple way to reconnect with your body during the day.

Leading the session is Cecily Guest, a longtime Bay Area yoga and fitness instructor with 30 years of experience teaching for fitness brands and corporate audiences. Her approach to movement draws from a diverse range of disciplines, including dance, Pilates, martial arts, personal training, and various yogic traditions. Guest is returning for her third year teaching classes at Thrive City. She also teaches at Equinox Fitness and leads workshops and yoga retreats throughout California. Her certifications include A.C.E., AFAA, Yoga Fit, Diablo Yoga Center, SCW Pilates, and Reebok Indoor Cycling.

Participants should bring a water bottle and a mat. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests arriving by car can use the Chase Center Garage at 99 Warriors Way, which offers parking seven days a week.

Before attending, visitors should review Thrive City’s venue guidelines. Prohibited items and activities include weapons, outside alcohol, smoking, drones, amplified sound, coolers, lawn chairs, bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, scooters, tents, and overnight camping. Pets must remain leashed, while trained service animals are welcome according to venue guidelines.
