Build strength from the inside out at Weekly Fitness Classes | Athletic Core, a free fitness experience at Thrive City presented by Kaiser Permanente. Part of Thrive City’s fall wellness programming, this class invites members of the Bay Area community to move, challenge themselves, and discover the benefits of focused core conditioning in an encouraging environment. You do not have to be an athlete to train like one—Athletic Core is designed for participants of all fitness levels, wherever they may be on their wellness journey.
The class focuses on core-based conditioning, helping participants develop strength, stability, balance, and body awareness. Expect an active and engaging workout that challenges your center while encouraging you to move with purpose. Whether you are already committed to fitness or simply looking for a new way to stay active, the class offers an opportunity to work your core and leave feeling stronger, steadier, and more centered.
Leading the experience is Cecily Guest, a respected Bay Area yoga and fitness instructor with 30 years of experience working with renowned fitness brands and corporate audiences. Cecily’s approach to movement draws on a broad range of disciplines, including dance, Pilates, martial arts, personal training, and diverse yogic traditions. She has earned certifications through A.C.E., AFAA, Yoga Fit, Diablo Yoga Center, SCW Pilates, and Reebok Indoor Cycling.
This will be Cecily’s third year teaching classes at Thrive City, and her extensive experience makes her an engaging guide for participants with different backgrounds and abilities. In addition to teaching at Equinox Fitness, she leads workshops and yoga retreats throughout California, bringing a varied and well-rounded perspective to her fitness instruction.
Guests should bring a bottle of water and a mat so they are ready to participate comfortably. The class is free, but space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, making it a good idea to arrive early.
Parking is available seven days a week at the Chase Center Garage (CCG), located at 99 Warriors Way. Visitors should also review Thrive City’s venue policies, including restrictions on outside alcohol, coolers, lawn chairs, smoking, drones, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, tents, and other prohibited items and activities. Trained service animals are welcome according to venue guidelines.
Whether your goal is to strengthen your core, improve your stability, or simply enjoy an energizing community workout, Athletic Core offers a welcoming way to get moving and feel your best. Come to Thrive City, bring your mat, and discover how powerful a strong and centered foundation can feel.
