One Less Guest Joins a Line-up of Artists at Brick and Mortar Music Hall

Comprised of Ren Cooper on violin, Nick Muska on guitar, Cody Thoreson on drums, and Nick Glass on bass, One Less Guest is a funk, rock, jazz, and R&B band based in Anaheim, California. Their music is rooted in their shared passion for the art of songwriting, groove, and camaraderie. Originally formed in Duluth, Minnesota in 2018, the group quickly gained a following in the upper Midwest after playing almost 200 shows together. They saved up enough money to self-release their first album, Monochrome, in April 2020.

In May 2021, the band had the opportunity to relocate to Southern California and performed their Farewell Midwest show to a sold-out crowd. Since their move, One Less Guest has released an EP of covers titled The Perch Sessions in 2021, a live album, One Hot Night, Vol. 1 in 2022, and a collaborative single with Minneapolis-based group Beneath Green titled Hi-Beams in the same year. Hi-Beams was recently featured in the trailer for the upcoming film “The Pool Boy,” set to be released in select theaters later in 2023.

One Less Guest is currently finishing up recording their second full-length studio album, which is set to be released in May 2023. The band plans to tour in support of the new album in July of the same year. With their unique blend of genres and dedication to their craft, One Less Guest continues to establish themselves as a rising force in the California music scene.
