Kelsey Kindall Opens a New Chapter with the Live Debut of The Waiting Room
Some albums are collections of songs; others feel more like chapters in a life. For San Francisco-based artist Kelsey Kindall, The Waiting Room is firmly in the latter category. On Saturday, October 24, Kindall will celebrate the album’s release with its first-ever live performance, inviting audiences into a deeply personal coming-of-age story about leaving your 20s, entering your 30s, and learning to appreciate the beauty found in the uncertainty of change.
Released October 23, The Waiting Room was written over the past year and unfolds across nine tracks. Its subject matter is intimate but widely relatable: turning 30, building a home in a city that once felt unfamiliar, questioning relationships that appear healthy while gradually eroding a sense of self, and confronting the mixture of uncertainty, joy, growth, and transformation that comes with getting older.
The October 24 performance offers something more than a typical album release show. For the first time, audiences will hear the nine-track record performed live with a full band, creating an opportunity to experience the songs as an interconnected story rather than simply a collection of recordings. The evening is designed around storytelling, vulnerability, presence, and celebration—a chance to reflect on where life takes us while remaining grounded in the moment.
Originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania, Kindall has established herself in San Francisco through a combination of story-driven songwriting and energetic performance. She has released four projects across streaming platforms, earning more than 200,000 streams and reaching more than 100,000 listeners. Since relocating to San Francisco, she has performed at venues throughout the city, including The Independent, Café du Nord, Swedish American Hall, Hotel Utah, and others, as well as through Sofar Sounds.
Her theater background is also central to the live experience. Kindall is known for dynamic performances, humorous storytelling between songs, and an ability to create an atmosphere where the audience feels less like spectators and more like participants in the evening. Her music pairs hard-hitting beats with emotionally direct lyrics, while her stage presence brings an unmistakable sense of joy and theatricality.
The Waiting Room is also Kindall’s second album as a signed artist with El Portal Recordings, making this live debut an important milestone in her artistic evolution.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m., with the show beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. For anyone drawn to music that tells a story—and to performances that can make vulnerability feel celebratory—this promises to be an especially meaningful album debut.
