In Color with Jack Gray
In Color brings its evolving alternative-pop sound to the stage on Friday, September 25, with Jack Gray joining the lineup. Doors open at 8:30 PM, with the show beginning at 9:00 PM, offering local music fans a chance to experience a rising Nashville band whose sound combines strong pop songwriting with expansive, layered production.
Made up of Holden Clontz, Matthew Hastings, Val Hoyt, and Miles Laderman, In Color is built around more than musical chemistry. The four members share years of friendship, overlapping musical histories, and a common interest in creating something that sits outside conventional genre boundaries. Their music brings together alternative rock, pop, and atmospheric textures, resulting in songs that can feel both immediate and richly detailed.
The group’s formation is an unusual story. Although the members had known one another through school, college, friendships, and various musical projects, it took a major snowstorm in early 2024 to bring their collective potential into focus. After spending several days together during the storm, the friends began imagining what they might sound like as a band. What started as an idea quickly became a year of private rehearsals, songwriting, and experimentation.
Their debut EP, Snow Day, arrived in 2025 through Big Loud Rock after the band had already generated millions of independent streams. The project introduced listeners to In Color’s blend of timeless melodies and evolving soundscapes. Songs including “Headlights,” “Liar,” “Is There Anyone?” “Time,” and “I Want You” demonstrate the group’s ability to move comfortably between atmospheric alternative rock, pop, and rhythmic influences.
In Color cites a wide range of inspirations, including Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Switchfoot, The Beatles, U2, and Michael Jackson. Those influences help explain the band’s broad musical palette while its four members’ collaborative approach gives the songs a distinct identity.
Joining In Color is Jack Gray, adding another performer to the evening’s lineup. For attendees, the September 25 show provides an opportunity to hear both artists live and discover music that blends familiar songwriting with modern production.
With doors at 8:30 PM and the show at 9:00 PM, plan to arrive early enough to settle in before the performances begin. In Color with Jack Gray offers a Friday night of melodic alternative music, layered arrangements, and the energy of a band still defining its next chapter.
