Fat Tuesday 2024, falling on February 13th, is the pinnacle of Mardi Gras celebrations. It’s a day full of traditions, extravagant parades, and more. Known as Mardi Gras Day, it marks the culmination of the Carnival season, a period of festivity that begins on Epiphany (January 6th) and ends with the onset of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Fat Tuesday is celebrated with all over the world, but it is most famously observed in New Orleans. San Francisco isn’t really a place where you will find a whole lot of events and cool things to do for Fat Tuesday, but you can always create your own party with friends.

Fat Tuesday is a time of indulgence before the sober period of Lent, a final day before some people give up some things (like sweets or fried foods) so why not take advantage of the celebration. Have a big meal, get some drinks and grab a king cake from the Noe Valley Bakery.
