Get your body moving and build strength with a two-part fitness experience at Thrive City as part of the Weekly Fitness Classes presented by Kaiser Permanente. Offered throughout the fall, this free community fitness series provides an accessible way for Bay Area residents and visitors to stay active, explore different forms of exercise, and work with experienced fitness professionals. Classes are open to all levels, making them suitable for participants at different points in their wellness journeys.

This week’s classes will take place at the East Plaza, on the corner of 16th Street and Terry A. Francois Boulevard, providing an outdoor setting for a morning of movement. Participants can choose to attend one class or make the most of the morning by joining both sessions.

The first session, Elevated Intervals – HIIT, runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. This energetic workout features bursts of cardio along with lower-body, upper-body, and core exercises. The varied format is designed to keep participants engaged while challenging different muscle groups and encouraging cardiovascular fitness. It offers a lively start to the morning for anyone looking to add intensity to their routine.

From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., the focus shifts to Aligned – Pilates, a Pilates-inspired class combining core conditioning with an added fitness challenge. The session provides an opportunity to concentrate on controlled movement and core engagement while continuing to build strength and stability.

Both classes are led by Jai Mac Neil, a professor in the Kinesiology Department and Change Institute at the University of San Francisco. She is also the creator of the Self-Transformation Empowerment Program at USF, a performance coach for the Golden State Warriors, a motivational speaker, and a mindset specialist. Her professional experience includes working with organizations across sports, fitness, education, healthcare, and business.

Participants should bring a water bottle and exercise mat. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is available seven days a week at the Chase Center Garage at 99 Warriors Way.

Guests should review Thrive City’s venue policies before attending. Prohibited items and activities include weapons, outside alcohol, smoking, drones, amplified sound, coolers, lawn chairs, bicycles, skateboards, roller blades, scooters, tents, and overnight camping.
