Australian composer and multi-instrumentalist Carla dal Forno brings her quietly immersive sound to San Francisco’s The Chapel on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Joined by Bay Area dream-pop favorite Cindy, the evening promises an intimate and atmospheric showcase of music that finds beauty in restraint, emotional honesty, and the subtle tension of everyday life.
Over the past decade, dal Forno has established a distinctive musical identity rooted in post-punk, dream-pop, dub, and the intimate traditions of home recording. Her songs often inhabit the space between moments—the point where silence becomes meaningful, relationships become complicated, and seemingly ordinary experiences begin to carry unexpected emotional weight. Her latest album, Confession, released April 24, 2026, represents a particularly direct chapter in that evolution.
Released through dal Forno’s independent Kallista Records, Confession explores the emotional upheaval of a friendship unexpectedly becoming something more complicated. The album moves through attraction, longing, jealousy, obsession, and eventual acceptance without losing the subtlety that has long defined her work. Recorded in a small studio inside a partially abandoned hospital in regional Victoria, the record draws much of its character from the surrounding quiet. Elastic basslines, melodic arrangements, and spacious instrumental passages give the songs room to breathe while creating a sound that feels both intimate and expansive.
Opening the evening is Cindy, a central presence in San Francisco and the Bay Area’s dream-pop, fog-pop, and lo-fi scene. Led by songwriter Karina Gill, Cindy combines nostalgic pop craftsmanship with thoughtful lyricism and has taken its music to audiences across the United States, UK, and Europe. The live lineup includes Will Smith, Staizsh Rodrigues, and Oli Lipton.
Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the show beginning at 8:00 PM at The Chapel in San Francisco. Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 on the day of the show. ADA seating can be requested through the venue in advance, with availability limited.
For fans of atmospheric indie music, intimate songwriting, and performances that reward close listening, this is an ideal night to experience two distinctive voices from the worlds of dream-pop and experimental alternative music.
