An Evening With moe.

Goldenvoice Presents An Evening With moe. on Friday, October 16, 2026, for an all-ages concert centered on improvisation, musical exploration, and the distinctive genre-blending sound of one of the longest-running bands in the American jam scene. Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the performance beginning at 8:00 PM.

Formed in 1990 by Al Schnier, Chuck Garvey, and Rob Derhak at the University at Buffalo, moe. began as a group of musician-friends simply looking for a way to combine their love of music and live performance. Over more than three decades, that casual beginning developed into an enduring career built around constant touring, adventurous songwriting, and a deep connection with their audience.

The current lineup features Schnier and Garvey on guitars and vocals, Derhak on bass and vocals, Jim Loughlin on percussion and vibes, and Vinnie Amico on drums. Together, they have developed a sound that refuses to settle into one genre. Their music draws from rock, funk, progressive music, Americana, country, jazz, new wave, calypso, and other influences, often shifting direction within a single performance.

For moe., the live setting is especially important. As the band moved from opening slots to headlining shows, their songs gradually expanded, creating room for extended instrumental passages and improvisation. That evolution helped establish the group as a jam-band favorite, with performances known for spontaneous arrangements, intricate interplay, rhythmic experimentation, and moments that can make each concert feel different from the last.

The band’s extensive catalog includes albums such as TIN CANS & CAR TIRES, Wormwood, The Conch, What Happened to the La Las, and This Is Not, We Are. Their career has also included appearances at major festivals and performances alongside artists including the Allman Brothers Band, Robert Plant, members of the Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews Band, The Who, Gov’t Mule, and Blues Traveler.

The October 16 event also carries a community-focused element: $1 from every ticket sold will go to Rock the Pink, an industry-wide campaign supporting breast cancer awareness and fundraising for the American Cancer Society during October.

With an all-ages format, a 7:00 PM door time, and an 8:00 PM show, An Evening With moe. offers an engaging night for longtime followers and newcomers alike. Expect a performance shaped by three decades of musical chemistry, experimentation, and the band’s enduring commitment to making every live show its own experience.
