An evening with Andrew McMahon and his piano

An Evening with Andrew McMahon and His Piano
with Ivory Layne

Spend an unforgettable Saturday night with acclaimed singer, songwriter, and pianist Andrew McMahon as he brings his intimate “An Evening with Andrew McMahon and His Piano” experience to Great American Music Hall. Joined by special guest Ivory Layne, McMahon will strip the concert experience back to its most essential elements, placing his distinctive voice, piano playing, and deeply personal songwriting at the center of the evening.

Known for his emotionally direct performances and celebrated career spanning multiple eras of alternative and piano-driven rock, McMahon has built a devoted following through songs that capture the highs, uncertainties, heartbreaks, and unexpected joys of life. In a piano-centered setting, those stories take on an especially personal quality, allowing audiences to experience familiar songs in a more intimate and revealing way.

Rather than relying on a large-scale production, this performance focuses on the connection between artist and audience. McMahon’s piano becomes the foundation for an evening of powerful melodies, heartfelt storytelling, and songs that have resonated with listeners throughout his career. Fans can expect moments of energy alongside quieter, reflective passages, creating a dynamic show that feels both nostalgic and immediate.

Opening the evening is Ivory Layne, whose appearance adds another compelling voice to the night. Her performance sets the stage for an evening built around musicianship, songwriting, and emotional authenticity.

The historic Great American Music Hall provides an ideal backdrop for this stripped-down performance. Its intimate atmosphere allows audiences to feel close to the music and fully immersed in the experience, making this a particularly special opportunity for longtime fans and anyone discovering McMahon’s work for the first time.
