Prepare for an atmospheric evening of shimmering guitars, dreamlike melodies, and influential shoegaze when Alison’s Halo takes the stage with Cathedral Bells on Saturday, December 5, 2026. Doors open at 8:00 PM, with the show beginning at 9:00 PM. The concert is all ages, offering music fans an opportunity to experience a band whose early work has become increasingly recognized within the shoegaze and dreampop traditions.
Formed in Tempe, Arizona, in the spring of 1992 by Catherine Cooper on vocals and guitar and Adam Cooper on guitar and vocals, Alison’s Halo quickly developed a presence within the local music scene. The lineup soon expanded to include Lynn Anderson on bass and an Alesis drum machine affectionately nicknamed Alison. That distinctive combination helped establish the band’s sound as they began sharing stages with both national and international acts.
Among the artists Alison’s Halo performed alongside were The Verve, Ultra Vivid Scene, Curve, The Boo Radleys, Stereophonics, Medicine, Lovesliescrushing, and Bailter Space. The band also appeared at music festivals around the country, building a reputation beyond their Arizona roots.
In 1995, Alison’s Halo released the “Dozen/Calendar” single through Independent Project Records. The release earned national reviews and extensive college radio airplay, drawing attention to the band’s distinctive combination of chiming guitar textures and Catherine Cooper’s expressive melodies. Their debut full-length, Eyedazzler, was recorded between 1992 and 1996 in a small warehouse using various 2-, 4-, and 8-track cassette recording setups. Originally released by Detroit’s Burnt Hair Records in 1998, the album has continued to attract listeners and has been ranked among notable shoegaze and dreampop releases from those genres’ formative eras.
For audiences drawn to hazy guitar layers, melodic songwriting, and the immersive qualities of shoegaze and dreampop, this performance offers a chance to hear Alison’s Halo in a live setting while discovering the atmospheric qualities that have kept the music resonant decades after its original recordings.
Joining the bill is Cathedral Bells, adding another dimension to an evening centered on spacious textures and dreamlike sound. With doors at 8:00 PM and music beginning at 9:00 PM, the all-ages concert is an opportunity to settle in for a night of richly layered guitars, evocative vocals, and enduring alternative music.
Mark Saturday, December 5, for an evening that connects the history and continuing appeal of shoegaze and dreampop with the immediacy of live performance.
