30th Annual SF Drag King Contest

San Francisco’s legendary 30th Annual SF Drag King Contest returns on Saturday, September 12, 2026, bringing three decades of drag, comedy, performance art, and boundary-pushing entertainment to the stage. Presented as a special “Dirty Thirty” celebration, this milestone edition promises an evening filled with larger-than-life characters, outrageous costumes, clever performances, and plenty of playful competition.

The event features a packed roster of established drag kings and performers, including Leigh Crow, Rusty Hips, Howie Weenis, Madd Dogg 20/20, Misterrr, Meatflap, and Max Voltage, with more performers joining the celebration. Guiding the festivities are hosts Fudgie Frottage and Sister Roma, while special guest Mo B. Dick, a celebrated drag king historian and performer, is also scheduled to appear.

The competition format brings together contestants for a theatrical showcase where drag, music, comedy, character work, and visual spectacle take center stage. A “Lipsynch for Your Life” segment will give additional contestants an opportunity to perform, while celebrity judges including Trixxie Carr, Fontaine Blue, and Papi Churro, along with additional judges to be announced, will help evaluate the festivities. DJ Junkyard provides the soundtrack, with visuals by Vis-a-vis adding another layer to the production.

More than a contest, the event celebrates the creativity and history of San Francisco’s drag king community. Its deliberately irreverent approach combines humor, theatricality, gender-bending performance, and a strong sense of community, creating an atmosphere that is both celebratory and unapologetically unconventional.

The 30th Annual SF Drag King Contest is also a benefit event supporting PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support) and Rocket Dog Rescue, allowing attendees to enjoy the show while contributing to organizations that support animals and their communities.

The event is fully seated. Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the show beginning at 8:00 PM. Ticket options include $25 General Admission Standing, $35 Standard Seating, $50 Silver, and $60 Gold.
