Things to do in June

The Best Things to do in June 2023 The Roman Goddess, Juno, was the patroness of well being in women and is thought to have inspired the name for the month of June. It is the month where summer officially begins and, in most parts of the country, is the time when the temperature start to rise and people begin to spend a lot of time outdoors. There are fun things to do all over the country during the month, but the Bay Area is definitely a top choice for travel destinations. In San Francisco, the weather can still be a little cool, but the summer months bring a lot of great events, concerts, street fairs and more. There are several annual events in June that are not only popular with Bay Area locals, but also bring in visitors from all over the world. The biggest celebration of the month and, arguably, the largest event of the year in San Francisco is the Annual Pride Parade and Festival that takes place at the end of the month. June also marks the beginning of Street Fair Season, where many different neighborhoods in San Francisco close off a few blocks and bring in food trucks, live music, vendors and more. Other highlights include Escape from Alcatraz, Juneteenth and the Stern Grove Festival. Top Events and Things To Do in San Francisco in June While Bay To Breakers and Bottlerock Music Festival in May get things started, June is definitely the month where things begin to pick up in the city. June is a great month to head up to Napa Valley or Sonoma Valley to visit some of the over 800 wineries in the area before the harvest season begins. The crowds will be a little smaller, so you will get a chance to really learn about the winemaking process, taste some great wines and purchase a few bottles for your collection. You can drive to wine country, but if you have a group or just want to set up a more VIP experience, renting a bus for a winery tour is always a great time.
