The Terminator Live

The Terminator Live

Experience one of science fiction’s most enduring action films in an entirely new way when The Terminator Live comes to San Francisco’s Curran Theatre on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 7:30 PM PT. This special concert-meets-cinema event combines James Cameron’s groundbreaking 1984 film The Terminator with a live performance of composer Brad Fiedel’s iconic score, performed in sync with the movie on the big screen.

Rather than simply watching the cult classic at home or in a traditional theater setting, audiences will hear Fiedel’s distinctive synthesizer-driven and percussive soundtrack performed live as the story unfolds. The music is an essential part of The Terminator’s atmosphere, helping create its sense of tension, urgency, danger, and relentless momentum. Hearing the score performed live alongside the film adds an immersive dimension to familiar scenes and allows audiences to experience the movie with the power and immediacy of a live concert.

Released in 1984, The Terminator stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a seemingly unstoppable cyborg assassin sent back through time on a deadly mission. His target is Sarah Connor, played by Linda Hamilton, whose unborn son is destined to become humanity’s key hope in a future war against machines. Pursued by the relentless Terminator, Sarah must fight for survival while confronting a future she never imagined.

Directed by James Cameron, the film combines science fiction, action, suspense, and emotional storytelling to create a cinematic experience that has remained influential for generations. Its innovative visual effects, memorable characters, intense action sequences, and unforgettable musical score have helped establish its status as a landmark of the genre.

The full experience runs approximately 2 hours and 11 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission. Doors open at 6:00 PM, giving guests time to arrive before the 7:30 PM performance.

Please note that the film is rated R. Guests under 17 must be accompanied by an adult, and children under 5 are not permitted.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of The Terminator, a lover of film music, or simply looking for a unique night of live entertainment, The Terminator Live offers an exciting opportunity to see this landmark sci-fi thriller on the big screen while its unforgettable score comes alive around you.
