Give your body a chance to slow down, recover, and feel renewed at Weekly Fitness Classes | Athletic Stretch, a free wellness experience at Thrive City presented by Kaiser Permanente. Part of Thrive City’s seasonal fitness programming, this class offers an inviting opportunity for Bay Area community members of all fitness levels to step away from the demands of the day and focus on flexibility, mobility, and restoration.
The event takes place on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Whether you are an active athlete, someone who spends long hours at a desk, or simply looking for a relaxing way to support your everyday movement, Athletic Stretch is designed to meet you where you are. The class focuses on some of the areas that can hold tension during daily activities and exercise, including the hamstrings, lower back, neck, and shoulders.
Participants will move through a combination of seated and standing stretching exercises, creating an accessible experience for a wide range of abilities and fitness backgrounds. The emphasis is on helping participants feel more open, refreshed, and restored rather than pushing through an intense workout. It is an ideal complement to a more active fitness routine or a welcome reset for anyone seeking greater body awareness and mobility.
Leading the class is Cecily Guest, a highly experienced Bay Area yoga and fitness instructor with 30 years of experience teaching for renowned fitness brands and corporate audiences. Her approach to movement draws from a diverse background that includes dance, Pilates, martial arts, personal training, and various yogic traditions. Cecily has been certified through organizations including A.C.E., AFAA, Yoga Fit, Diablo Yoga Center, SCW Pilates, and Reebok Indoor Cycling. She is also an instructor at Equinox Fitness and leads her own workshops and yoga retreats throughout California. This will be her third year teaching Thrive City classes.
Guests should bring a bottle of water and a mat. The class is free, but space is limited and available first-come, first-served, so arriving early is recommended.
Parking is available seven days a week at the Chase Center Garage (CCG), located at 99 Warriors Way. Guests should also review Thrive City’s venue policies, which prohibit items and activities including outside alcohol, coolers, lawn chairs, smoking, drones, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, and other restricted items. Trained service animals are welcome under the venue’s guidelines.
Come to Thrive City on September 23 to stretch, release tension, and leave feeling refreshed, restored, and ready to take on whatever comes next.
