Shake, Rattle and Sing Along at Thrive City’s Little Bears Music Class

For families looking to introduce young children to the joy of music, Thrive City is turning up the fun with Little Bears Music Class, an interactive experience designed to get little ones—and the adults who love them—singing, moving and making music together. Rather than simply sitting back and listening, children are encouraged to participate, explore rhythm and melody, and discover music as a joyful form of self-expression.

The class is built around socialization, musical appreciation and the physical experience of rhythm. Through singing, movement and playful musical activities, Little Bears teachers create an environment where children can interact with one another while developing an early connection to music. The sessions are divided by age, allowing the activities to be tailored to different stages of childhood.

The morning session, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., is designed for babies and toddlers ages 3 and under, while the 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. session welcomes preschoolers ages 4 to 6. This age-based format gives each group an opportunity to engage with music in an age-appropriate way while enjoying the shared energy of a live class.

Leading the musical journey is Teacher Barb, a guitar-slinging musician whose repertoire reaches across rock ’n’ roll, country, folk, blues and jazz. Alongside familiar classics, she performs original songs created especially for children and families. Her upbeat, supportive style encourages kids to sing in tune, discover the beat, feel the rhythm and play with rhyme. Parents and caregivers are invited to join the fun, too, making the experience a family affair rather than a traditional children’s performance.

After class, families can keep the outing going with lunch or a sweet treat at one of Thrive City’s restaurants and bars. Parking is available seven days a week at the Chase Center Garage at 99 Warriors Way.

Space is limited and available first-come, first-served, so families are encouraged to arrive early. With lively music, hands-on participation and plenty of opportunities to sing and dance, Little Bears Music Class offers a playful introduction to the magic of making music together.
