Elevated Intervals + Aligned Pilates Bring a Dynamic Fitness Doubleheader to Thrive City
Bay Area residents looking for a productive way to spend a Saturday morning can head to Thrive City on September 12 for a free fitness doubleheader designed to get the body moving and the mind engaged. As part of Thrive City’s Weekly Fitness Classes, presented by Kaiser Permanente, Elevated Intervals and Aligned Pilates offer two complementary workouts in the Esplanade at the corner of Warriors Way and Terry A. Francois Boulevard.
The morning begins at 10 a.m. with Elevated Intervals, a high-intensity interval training session built around bursts of cardio, lower-body, upper-body and core exercises. The class is designed to bring plenty of energy to the workout while helping participants feel powerful, invigorated and strong. For those who enjoy a faster-paced fitness experience, the combination of varied exercises provides an opportunity to challenge different areas of the body within a single session.
At 11 a.m., the focus shifts to Aligned Pilates. This Pilates-inspired class combines core conditioning with an added dose of fitness intensity, creating a natural follow-up to the morning’s HIIT session. Participants can choose one class or make the most of the schedule by taking part in both.
Leading the sessions is Jai Mac Neil, a professor in the University of San Francisco’s Kinesiology Department and Change Institute. She is also the creator and facilitator of USFCA’s Self-Transformation Empowerment Program, a performance coach for the Golden State Warriors, motivational speaker and mindset specialist. Her professional work has included clients and organizations such as TIME, Forbes, NIKE, Kaiser, Equinox and members of professional sports leagues including the NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, MLS and NHL.
Both classes are open to all fitness levels. Guests should bring a water bottle and mat, and arrive prepared for an active morning. Space is limited and available first-come, first-served. Parking is available seven days a week at the Chase Center Garage at 99 Warriors Way.
With two distinct classes led by an experienced instructor, this Thrive City fitness morning offers a welcoming way for the Bay Area community to build strength, challenge itself and stay active together.
