Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats

Their live reputation has grown alongside the recordings, with the group performing sold-out shows across the United States, Europe, and Australia.

The North America ’26 tour also draws attention to the band’s immersive album Wasteland. Recorded at Los Angeles’ legendary Sunset Sound and later completed at Starrs’ own studio, the record combines raw, live-to-tape performances with psychedelic textures and an increasingly cinematic sense of atmosphere. Songs range from direct psych-rock numbers such as “I See Through You” and “Shockwave City” to the slower, more hypnotic “No Return” and the title track’s surreal journey.

Beyond its musical character, Wasteland is built around a dystopian story involving surveillance, propaganda, erased memories, and people searching for a way beyond oppressive walled cities. That concept adds another layer to Uncle Acid’s already shadowy aesthetic, making the music feel less like straightforward retro rock and more like an immersive world of its own.
