Step into a world where synth-driven music, fantasy storytelling, and immersive visuals collide when Magic Sword comes to The Chapel in San Francisco on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. More than a conventional concert, Magic Sword is an ongoing multimedia saga that combines an expanding graphic novel with original electronic soundtracks and theatrical live performances. The result is an epic experience inspired by the golden age of 1970s and ’80s fantasy and science fiction.

At the heart of the Magic Sword universe are three mysterious Immortals: The Keeper of the Magic Sword on keyboards, The Seer of All Truths on guitar, and The Weaver of All Hearts and Souls on drums. Together, they bring the project’s mythology to life through synth-heavy compositions, striking visual aesthetics, and a story built around the eternal conflict between light and darkness.

The newest chapter, Badlands, explores themes of loss, identity, corruption, and rediscovery. Originally conceived as a soundtrack for a feature film, the story follows the Keeper as they navigate a world consumed by darkness while searching for the Chosen One—the figure destined to wield the Magic Sword and restore balance to the universe. It’s a narrative that gives the music an added sense of scale, turning each performance into another chapter of an evolving hero’s journey.

Joining Magic Sword is Skylimit, the indie and alt-pop project of Boise, Idaho’s Stephen Balcos. Founded in 2013, Skylimit combines bright synthesizers, uplifting production, and heartfelt melodies with a nostalgic quality reminiscent of late-night drives and fleeting summer memories. His debut album, Maryland, takes place in a fictional town and transforms imagined locations and memories into energetic, melodic songs.

Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the show beginning at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 on the day of the show. ADA seating can be requested in advance through the venue, with availability potentially limited.
