Patrick Wolf brings The Tour of the Beast to the stage on Thursday, October 29, continuing a remarkable return to live performance after more than a decade away from North American touring. Doors open at 7:30 PM, with the show beginning at 8:00 PM. The evening offers audiences a chance to experience the work of an artist whose music has long crossed the boundaries of classical, folk, electronic, and experimental songwriting.

Wolf first released an EP at age 19, establishing an unconventional musical identity built around both traditional and unexpected instrumentation. Over the course of his career, he has written and self-produced seven albums, toured internationally, and developed a devoted audience drawn to his expressive vocals, distinctive arrangements, and theatrical approach to music. His instrumental palette includes viola, piano, dulcimer, harp, lyre, and tenor guitar, giving his compositions a richly textured quality.

His career has included collaborations with and performances alongside artists such as Patti Smith, Florence Welch, Marianne Faithfull, and composer Angelo Badalamenti. After stepping away from the music industry for roughly a decade, Wolf gradually reconnected with his creative work, leading to a new phase of recording and touring.

That renewed chapter was highlighted by the release of Crying the Neck, his seventh album. The record is a folkloric journey inspired by the landscapes of the East of England, where Wolf lives and works, and reflects the personal and artistic perspective he developed during his years away from the spotlight.

The album also helped bring Wolf back to North American stages for his first tour in more than 13 years. Following the response to that return, The Tour of the Beast expands the journey with an extensive East Coast-to-West Coast-and-back itinerary. The tour coincides with a new 7-inch single campaign featuring two new songs: “The Beast,” a bombastic harpsichord-driven anthem, and “The Laughing Dove,” a quieter lyre-and-vocal piece inspired by Albert Camus’s The Myth of Sisyphus.

Wolf’s return is also being documented through a forthcoming feature documentary, executive produced by Tilda Swinton. Together, the music, tour, and film mark a new era for an artist whose work has continually evolved without losing its individuality.
