Few artists have created a career as enduring and influential as Bonnie Raitt. Celebrated for her distinctive voice, expressive songwriting, and masterful slide-guitar playing, Raitt has spent decades seamlessly blending blues, R&B, rock, and pop. After building a devoted following as a cult favorite for nearly two decades, she reached a much wider audience in the early 1990s with the landmark albums Nick of Time and Luck of the Draw. Those records produced enduring favorites including “Something to Talk About” and “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

A 13-time GRAMMY Award winner and 2000 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Raitt has continued to evolve while remaining true to her roots. Her 2022 album, Just Like That…, became another major milestone, reaching No. 1 on six Billboard charts during its release week. The album’s title track later earned Raitt three GRAMMY Awards in 2023, including Song of the Year and Best American Roots Song.

Her recent accomplishments also include a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy, the Icon Award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards, and recognition of Nick of Time in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry. In 2024, Raitt was honored as part of the Kennedy Center’s 47th Class of Honorees, further celebrating her extraordinary artistic legacy.

Beyond music, Raitt is widely respected for her decades of social activism. She has supported environmental protection, safe energy, human rights, social justice, Native American rights, artist advocacy, and music education. Her involvement includes founding MUSE (Musicians United for Safe Energy) and the Rhythm and Blues Foundation.
