ALO Brings the Tour D’Amour XVIII to The Fillmore
For the eighteenth edition of their annual Tour D’Amour, the California-born jam-pop collective ALO (short for Animal Liberation Orchestra) returns to San Francisco’s iconic Fillmore on February 22nd. At once celebratory and intimate, this beloved midwinter tradition feels less like a concert and more like an extended family reunion where the grooves are warm, the melodies are breezy, and the vibe is pure West Coast bliss.
ALO has long occupied a singular space within the jam band ecosystem: polished enough to charm casual listeners yet loose enough to keep die-hard fans hanging on every note. Their sound, a jubilant fusion of funk, rock, and sunshine pop, evokes coastal drives and late-night campfires. Anchored by the soulful vocals and keys of Zach Gill (of Jack Johnson fame) and bolstered by the impeccable interplay of Dan Lebowitz on guitar, Steve Adams on bass, and Ezra Lipp on drums, the quartet delivers music that feels simultaneously nostalgic and perpetually new.
Tour D’Amour is, in part, a celebration of love—love for music, for community, for the imperfect beauty of life itself. It’s the kind of show where friends twirl in the aisles, where strangers bond over spontaneous jams, and where the enduring magic of live music feels palpable in every corner of the room. At The Fillmore—San Francisco’s hallowed hall, where echoes of counterculture luminaries still linger—ALO’s exuberant, freewheeling spirit finds its perfect home.
Fans of Jack Johnson, Phish, and the Grateful Dead will feel right at home here, but ALO’s joyful, groove-forward performances transcend categories. Come for the jams, stay for the love—and leave with a smile you won’t shake for days.
