If you are looking for great sports bars in San Francisco, it doesn’t get much better than Kezar Pub. Located in Haight-Ashbury, the place has been around since 1936, although the current owner, Cyril Hackett, took it over in 1995. The bar has a long history in San Francisco and its location across the street from Kezar Stadium made the location a prime spot for pre-game drinks when the San Francisco 49ers began to play there. Although the stadium was built in 1922, 14 years before the bar was built, it wasn’t until the Niners moved started playing there in 1946 that the area became a prime spot for a bar. They played there all the way until 1970, when Candlestick Park became the new home of the San Francisco 49ers.
Between the traffic from Kezar Stadium and its prime location at the end of Haight-Ashbury, Kezar Pub has definitely seen it all. Consistently voted as one of the top sports bars in San Francisco, it is a great place to watch some games or just head out on a random night for some beers and the best hot wings in town. The menu features the perfect selection of high-end bar food like fried calamari, corn dogs, tacos, chicken club sandwiches and burgers along with some favorites like Shepherd’s Pie and Bangers & Mash. The location of Kezar Pub is also a plus, close to some great shops and restaurants along Haight Street and within walking distance of Golden Gate Park. If you are looking for the best bars in San Francisco, make sure to head to the Haight and grab a beer at Kezar.
